Autobailer

The autobailer on my 2007 hull has never been watertight. If uninstalled and closed, there is still lots of room for light to shine through(or water) and it seems to be designed that way. The rubber stopper is what makes it work.

Is there much of an advantage to even having an autobailer?

I just bought a 91 without one and can't see $87 plus shipping for something that leaks. The rubber stopper works and is pretty inexpensive.

If you think that's a rip-off, check out the price for replacement o-rings - $10 for a 4 pack.

Get the springs (which recently became class legal) instead of the O-rings. Mine still leaks, but the springs are at least a 4x improvement.

My question is "If it is going to leak anyway, why spend the $87 or even $50? The rubber stopper doesn't leak.
