Attaching cheek block to fairlead

I would like to run my halyard through a block attached to the fairlead to make raising the sail easier. Has anybody tried this and if so, could you give me a recomendation on the type of block and fastener? I don't race, doesn't need to be class legal.

I tend to agree with Wavedancer, but if you really want a deck block rather than a deck fairlead, simply remove the fairlead and screw on an original
bronze Sunfish halyard block that used to come standard with the earlier fiberglass Sunfish. See photo. I can sell you one for $10 + postage..

Thanks for the replies all. I'm trying a couple of different options and will let you know what I find.

Here’s a visual of Wavedancer’s good advice. I wouldn’t remove the fairlead to add a block. It’s not necessary and you could create a nice project for yourself if that backer block drops into the hull. The sail is quite easy to raise if you’re pointing into the wind and you pull the halyard along the mast, THEN through the fairlead. Your other hand gives the gooseneck a little lift, then both hands are free to pull the halyard.
