Anyone sailing in Marina del Rey, CA.?

Hey everyone.

Is there anyone here who frequently sails out of Marina del Rey and looking for crew? I'm actually a novice to sailing and looking to learn some basics and get on the water some.

I'm able to offer a reasonable fee for anyone's time, who's willing to help me learn some basics of sailing.

I appreciate all feedback.

Thanks.

Drive up to Ventura Harbor and I,ll be happy to take you out on my 14.2. That would be a lot easier than me bringing the boat down there.

Marina Del Rey sailing

Hi T.J. --

UCLA has their marine recreation center going at Marina Del Rey and they're sailing Capri 14.2's even. http://www.macsailing.org/Sailing/index.htm

I'd venture there's alot of opps for contacts and learning there. There's a buncha cool stuff on the site, including a beginner's manual specific to our boats on this page:

So tell the truth -- is California as cool as it's always appeared to a midwestern boy transplanted to Florida??

Hope yer sailing is great...

I live close to the center of California , not much here, a few Army Corp lakes within an hour drive and lots of Ag land , but ... 2-3 hour drive in any direction and I am in heaven. If I head West I can be paddling Morro bay, to the East and I'll be admiring Yosemites waterfalls or the awesome Giant Sequioas , head South to LA or North to Frisco, both with there special brand of sailing and entertainment . My favorite sailing location is Huntington Lake ( home of the High Sierra Regatta ) nothing like sailing at 7000' in an Alpine setting , So yeah its pretty cool.
