Hello! I am the team captain of a newly formed all-female J/24 team comprised of young sailors from the Chesapeake Bay area. We are in search of a J/24 to borrow for the Newport Regatta the weekend of July 6th. I am reaching out via this forum in the hope that someone might be able to lend a helping hand. I have provided my abbreviated sailing resume below, along with our skipper's resume. We can provide more detailed resumes upon request.
Casey Firth (Team Captain)
· Weekly racing on an S2, J/33, and Inland 20 competing in weeknight racing and the CBYRA circuit on the Chesapeake Bay (Saturday/Sunday)
· Jib trimmer on a Chesapeake Bay Log Canoe
· Raced J/22s this winter/spring out of Baltimore
· Formed an all-female J/24 team in Spring 2019, which made its debut at the Lady Liberty Regatta at Manhattan Yacht Club
· Adult sailing instructor (Flying Scots at DC Sail)
· Skipper for the University of Virginia (FJs and 420s)
Lyzz Schwegler (Skipper)
· Weekly racing on an Islander 36; jib and spinnaker trimmer, tactics, alternate skipper.
· Islander 36 North American Champion, 2018. Summer Friday Night Series Champions, 2011-2018.
· Twice-monthly racing on J105; jib and spinnaker trimmer.
· Once a month racing on Santa Cruz 50; pit crew / alternate trimmer. Some offshore racing.
· Owner and skipper of a Vanguard 15; weekly team racing and fleet racing.
· Head Coach, DC Sail High School Program, 2009-2010
· Captain of the UCLA sailing team, 2004-2007. Women’s Varsity A skipper.
