advice on polishing and wax

I recently bought a used laser from 2019 and it has a few minor scratches and the normal wear and I was wondering what to use and how to wax and polish it… I’m a little skeptical about ruining the gel goat. Any advice on what to do and what not to do and what to use.

clean off the old wax and dirt first by hand using a strong soap or even acetone alone may be enought , if your not experianced with a powered polishing/buffing tool you may rub through the gelcoat.
as its a fairly new boat you probably dont need to use a rubbng compound to reflat and polish the gelcoat and go straight to re-waxing
