Hi! I have not got my first boat yet but I have been reading alot here and I have 2 books my question is, I am 5'5" about 175lbs alittle heavy right now, well maybe alot heavy (due to left and right knee opperations 1 yr apart) will it be differant for a person hiking out at say 5'10 plus I am not sure on my leaver calculations, I am just wondering maybe a full rig might be to much for me.Great forum I have learned so much from here. Now all I need is a boat Thanks

You will be fine; in lighter winds you may have an advantage. In the really heavy stuff you may be pressed a bit, but, as stated before in other threads, there are a lot of sail adjustments you can make to allow you to sail well in 20+ mph. Your fitness will count too. Be careful with those knees; talk to your orthopaedist about the proper hiking technique for your situation.
