Hello Everyone,
Yesterday marked a very special day here at the forum: It was on this day, four years ago that the website now known as The Laser Forum was born!

Over the last four years TLF has had highs and lows, a different assortment of cheesy homemade logos and color schemes, and even a few different names. I started the forum as a branch of the class website at forum.laser.org, however it was decided that it would be best for the forum to be independent of the ILCA-NA. A new domain was purchased and a new name was established. It was at this point the forum took on the name of The Laser Forum. The name was tweaked a little in late 2004 – early 2005 but in 2006 it was decided to go back to the original title The Laser Forum and reiterate the TLF acronym.

The Laser Forum has now become the source for Laser discussion on the Internet. In early 2006 TLF absorbed the “NA Email List” from the Winsite crew and renamed it the TLF Laser List. There are currently several hundred people subscribed. One can sign up or find more information about the list at http://laserlist.laserforum.org or click the link on the home page.

The Laser Forum now has over 4,000 registered members and 850 people check out the site every day! This amazing growth over the last 4 years wouldn’t be possibly without your continued support and belief in the forum system installed here on TLF. Also, The Laser Forum is made possible by our great sponsors West Coast Sailing and The Boat House. Please consider ordering from these great companies next time you need new sailing gear. These sites, along with the Google Adsense sponsors, provide the funds that keep the busy server running and the vBulletin license paid! Finally, I need to thank Ken Wilson who was instrumental to getting the forum running in the early years and Janet Rupert who has been instrumental in keeping the forum running as TLF suffered the growing pains that come with such an increase in membership.

Have a great day and thank you for making The Laser Forum the laser sailing community!

Thanks for everything Bradley. :)

Happy to be a sponsor for the forum now and hopefully long into the future!

George
