The Lake Saint Louis Sailing Club is pleased to present the 2008 US Junior Olympic Sailing Festival - Midwest, on June 20-22, 2008, in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. We plan to race fleets of Sunfish (singles and doubles), Lasers, Optis and Club 420s. We will gladly add other fleets if we can get enough boats, so please let us know if you would like to race something other than the boats listed above.

The Junior Olympic Sailing Program is a nationwide series of regattas for youth ages 8 to 21. Each event in this family of regattas is hosted by a different club or organization, but all events share a common goal: to promote the enjoyment of sailing and development of skills to young sailors as well as provide an Olympic pathway for talented junior sailors. Events mix Olympic-style competition with elements of learning and fun for all levels--from beginning racers to those with Olympic aspirations. In 2008, 21 events are planned in the continental United States and Hawaii and nearly 4,000 sailors expected to participate. Junior Olympic Sailing is coordinated by US SAILING and sponsored by West Marine, Gill and Active.com.

We invite junior sailors of all skill levels to come join us for a fun-filled weekend of sailing and camaraderie. We'll have Friday clinics for the experienced and novice sailors, and racing on Saturday and Sunday. Sailors can choose to participate in the Friday clinics, the racing, or both. We'll have a pool party for all participants on Saturday night at the beautiful Lake Saint Louis Community Association Clubhouse.

Just a reminder that this event is a little more than two weeks away. We are hoping for a great group of young Laser sailors (ages 8-21, includes collegiate sailors), so check out the website and register. Feel free to contact me with any questions. All skill levels are welcome.
