This 1974 Laser sailboat needs repair before it can be used, but would be a good project boat for someone who wants an inexpensive Laser and who is reasonably handy with fiberglass.

The boat suffered a mast hole rupture (see pictures). This is a relatively common occurrence in older Lasers and there is a repair kit available from Laser Performance Inc. or from Annapolis Performance Sailing. You can find videos on youtube and threads with pictures right here on The Laser Forum, each explaining how this repair can be done.
This boat is being sold by the Ephraim Yacht Club -- we don't want to invest the volunteer time or the money to repair it ourselves.
The boat includes a rudder and tiller, daggerboard, standard 2-piece mast, boom, and all hardware needed to sail it. The mast hole tube (not pictured) is also included. It includes a sail (see picture). Whoever buys it will need to add a mainsheet, and downhaul, outhaul and boom vang.
Because this is an older Laser and the daggerboard and rudder have been repaired, and because of the needed mast hole repair, this will never be a fast racing Laser. However, it would make an excellent boat for kids or teens to sail off a beach and just bash around and learn to sail.
