Looking to refurbish a 1972 Sunfish, and it needs a new deck plate. Any idea where this part may be sourced?

grew guy,

I have several bronze Sunfish rudder attachment deckplates like the one shown in the attached photo, $25 USD + shipping.
The only problem is that I need a check or bank draft payable on USD as our local banks charge me up to $15 to convert a check in Canadian
dollars to US dollars and that sort of takes the fun out of the deal.. Reply if you are interested.

If you can provide a mailing address and total amount, I should be able to get a bank draft in US $

Hello Grew Guy, Do you happen to have an inspection port in your boat? Reason I ask, is in this recent thread, Something unexpected, there is what looks like a Sunfish with glassed-in structural ribs under the deck. US built Sunfish don't have those, so my theory was it might be a Canadian Grew. If you have access to look inside your hull, would you mind seeing if your boat has these ribs or not? Thanks!!!

Howdy, will check the boat tomorrow but I don’t believe there’s an inspection port. I think you might be right about it being a Canadian Grew though. I am only the 2nd owner, and I know the original owner is from Toronto where the boat was purchased. There is also a “Grew” decal on the back and a 2nd “Alcott” decal indicating 1972 was their 50th anniversary. Stay tuned,,

Frank,

UPS will charge $25 USD to ship the part to you i Toronto. United States Postal Service (USPS) will charge $21.25. How do you want to proceed?

With caution, lol. With costs approaching $75.00 Cdn I d like to confirm the measurements, which I can do tomorrow just to make sure it’s an exact fit. Appreciate your patience.
Just realized, you are not too far from my late father’s home town of Sherburne NY. He came to Toronto for university. I have a couple of delinquent (at the time) brothers who finished their last year of high school in Sherburne. Many fond childhood memories of twice a yr trips, tons of snow on the NY thruway and fabulous corn in late summer. Stay tuned,,
