15'9" Sunfish

Hi, I recently bought an old yellow hull sunfish. It measures 15'9" long? Is this a real sunfish? When did they make this length? Does it have a special name

I was just on www.sailboatsforsale.com and there is one listed there in Naples, Fla. It's pouring rain right now so can't take a picture, but I have another sunfish, so I know what they look like, but the yellow one looks just like it, only measures 15'9'.

Sunfish are 13' 9". There are numerous Clonefish that are not Sunfish. Some actually have some better design features.

Island packet made a 16ft Big Fish
This started me off on a quick little search.

The Big Fish was a boat made by Island Packet Yachts. I can confirm the boat was in production as recently as 2006 from vauge information available. It may have only been made around 2005-2006

The rig appears to be identical to a sunfish. The differences i can find are
Length: 16’ 7”
Weight: 245
Sail area: 114 Sq Ft
Draft: 4 inches without rudder/board
Draft: 40 inches with daggerboard down

There was a thread on it in the past.Any one sailed a Big Fish?

Here’s a brochure with more info like draft and cockpit area and such
