How to get rudder springs off and on?

Hi Fred, Find a good strong piece of nylon string, about 20in long, and tie it into a loop. Hook the loop onto the end of the spring, where it attaches to the spring post. Grab the inside of the loop and pull straight back and up. It comes right off. Do the same to replace it. BR, Ken.

    Epoxy - Fiberglass Sources

Hi S.C. Nice post. Another good source for materials (for those of us on the West coast) is Tap Plastics (www.tapplastics.com). They carry all of your other basic materials for fiberglass work (e.g. different weight and dimensions of fiberglass cloth, polyester resins, mixing containers...

Need advice on painting the splash guard (Coaming)

Hi Fred, I used gel-coat to cover the fix I made to a severely damaged splash guard and got an "ok" result, so I think an epoxy paint like Wayne used would be a better/easyer solution. But here is an FYI for you: If the splash guard has any big hair-line stress crack and you...

    Lasering to Sunfishing

I also own a Laser and a Sunfish. One thing you may find out about a Sunfish is that it is much more stable then a Laser, which will mostly work for you, but it can also be a real pain. Then thing is that a Laser, as you may well know, is quite "tippy" and will toss you right out of the boat on...
