Hi everyone,
I need to get a new sail in the near future and am keen to know what people's opinions are of the new standard sail over the old cut. is there a performance difference in light winds, heavy winds etc.?
I have heard it is faster in the breeze but slower in light winds.
Any...
Hi!
I dislodged my knee cap back in august and it is too painful to sail with (post physio treatment).
Has anyone had a similar issue? It's at it's worst downwind when the knee is bent.
Does anyone have any straps or braces they would recommend that help?
Cheers
Hi all,
I have seen that there is a new centre plate on the laser performance website with GRP slogan on. Has anyone got this plate. I am considering buying a new one and just wondering if this is any better/worse.
thanks
Hi All,
I race regularly but for the last year I really doubt I have made any improvement at all which is frustrating me more and more. has anybody else ever hit a point like this and if so what did you do/what should i do to get over it????
Thanks
Has anyone used laser's 5.5mm mainsheet?? If so, is it manageable to use across all conditions or should it only be used in lighter winds? my 6mm has recently begun to perish and just researching before i buy a new one!!
thanks
Hi,
A master at my club reckons having a slightly bent top mast is faster in light winds but i can't figure why. I've recently bought a new one because the offending top mast seems to no longer want to bend back anymore.
Whilst I know it's illegal - just wondering if anyone has any theories...
Hi!
I'm moving to Auckland for a year + and was just wondering if anyone knows the best place for laser sailing. where has the biggest fleet. i heard manly is the way to go? Not into lake sailing...

Hi,
At this weekends UK qualifier I got the same feeling I have had at the last couple of opens - sea sickness. I become so weak I cant sail and this weekend i had to come in half way through the first race. i'm not used to such big, far apart waves but waiting in between races seems to kick...
Hi,
My unbreakable carbon tiller is cracking up the side. Does anyone know of the best way to repair this...some kind of filler, powerful glue etc.? It's the laser tiller (the one that looks pimping but actually isn't very good)
Also, the flexi joint on the extension has a slight rip and I'm...
Hi,
Does anybody know if having the pin in the rudder stock section to pin around the gudgeon is a class rule? I'm not talking the rudder/tiller pin. Hopefully you know what i mean? and hopefully it isn't?
Hi,
Is anyone here going for the nationals at the end of July? Just wondering if anybody can recommend a place for accomodation as there seems to be limited options?!?
Hi!
In what conditions is a bent top mast beneficial, light/mod/heavy or very little whatsoever, and the same for a straight top mast? I know a bent top mast isn't class legal but am curious to know?
Cheers
I've heard many debates about this and i veer towards the use of an older sail being beneficial in the light stuff due to its more natural bellow particularly in the bottom third of the sail. What does everyone else think!? It's one of those nagging things when I arrive in the boat park on a...
Now the new harken sleeve has been out for a while I was just wondering how people with it compare it to the clew strap. I still just use a clew strap and elastic but as they have both worn recently i'm looking at the harken thingy is it worth it?
Hi everyone,
I'm getting a road trailer made up and was hoping to get the bloke onto it this week. I won't be at my boat until the weekend so I was just wondering if anybody knows the trolley and or trailer dimensions or a place to find it as I can't! Any help would be awesome.
Cheers
I've noticed recently that ainslie must be wearing a thin lifejacket as you can barely make out where it is - http://www.sailinganarchy.com/fringe/2004/images/ainsile.jpg
does anyone know about these, it could be quite useful to have more room for ducking under the boom.
