I had the same problem with the block at the end of the boom where the holes had corroded and enlarged. My solution was to place stainless steel washers behind the holes inside the boom. I covered them in duralac jointing compound first to stop the corrosion getting any worse. Then just used...
Are you having difficulty getting your laser to point ? If so there are many threads on this site that may be of interest. Try http://sailingforums.com/threads/problem-with-pointing.21422/#post-103376
I used to have a similar problem. It was caused by my facing forward in the tack and getting caught on the mainsheet block. I now wait until the boom starts to come on top of me, face across the boat reaching to the far gunwhale with my tiller hand. I may also sit a little further back, just for...
I stand corrected, yes it was last April, Maybe because the winter dragged on a bit and makes it seem so much further back, it was pretty cold, but didn't stop us sailing in minus 10'c

Unless you're leading is this a problem ? Follow everyone else !
However, occasionally you will find yourself first to the top mark and clueless as to where to go next, I've been there (not often) it's not a good feeling.
I tried chinagraph pencil, as recomended to me, but as soon as it gets...
