in light air i will tie the end of my main sheet to the hiking strap and in heavy wind when i am rounding the down wind mark i will just throw the line out of the boat(only if no ones close)

I think all the new control lines are a big help. Sailing at 95 pounds all last year on a full rig a still stayed competetive against kids weighing up to 140 in a breeze. They let you depower the sail and still maintain good boat speed.
1. Remember laser center boards don't kick up.
2. When sailing on lake eire watch out for dead fish.
3. Screaming reaches in to a pontoon boat is not a good start
