    Different Rudder head

That's a pretty boat! Thanks for the pics. Yeah, it's be possible with the boom attached, just have to take the outhual off, I could put a stainless clip on the end of the outhaul to easily clip/unclip it from the sail, then wrap around the mast and re clip with the outhaul looser. I'm just not...

    Different Rudder head

That's a great deal on the Zuma/sunfish rig! With my Zuma project nearing completion I'm wondering if wrapping the sail around the mast to "reef" or reduce sail area is a good idea? Would that be bad for the sail? Where I live it's mostly light wind but occasionally there's a quick but windy...

Missing world sailing plaques on 2021 and newer boats

No oil canning though, that's for sure. I bet she's faster than 50% of her partly waterlogged fiberglass counterparts. I've had an interest in building a wooden sunfish for a while now, but lack of time and boat plans have kept that down.

    I've wondered about that too

Missing world sailing plaques on 2021 and newer boats

Thanks for that info, I have a 80's boat where there was a hole in the boat where the serial number once was and was wondering how that would work.

    Different Rudder head

I put a 4in port in either side, it was the only way to reach underneath the back of the cockpit with the can of spray foam. Heads up to anyone using great stuff pond and stone, wear long sleeves and gloves and have a can of acetone ready to get it off of you and the boat

Missing world sailing plaques on 2021 and newer boats

Heads up to anyone out there with a 2021 or newer sunfish. The following are the recent emails from the ISCA regarding the forged or missing world sailing plaques, just discovered my boat doesn't have one: #1 "World Sailing Plaques: Additional news is that ISCA has been working closely with...

    Different Rudder head

Little update: Reattached the original foam back in under the cockpit using great stuff pond and stone foam, came out really well I think. Just gotta attach the inspection ports (already cut the holes) and do a quick leak test and this thing'll be on the water. Thanks to everyone who gave me...

    1964 ALCORT Sunfish ANNA

I'd put glass in the corner the cockpit tub makes with the deck on the inside of the cockpit and inside the hull, try to reduce the amount that area can flex as much as possible

    1964 ALCORT Sunfish ANNA

If they don't leak I'd go sailing... Hate to put a port in that beautiful boat, just maybe in the cockpit tub side though, then glass the underside of the deck through that. But I'd rather be sailing :)

    Weird sail...

Howmar phantom spars the boom is a tad longer than the upper spar I believe, but the sail is the same size...

Break in/ things to know about a new sunfish

What length should the hiking strap in a new sunfish be? I ordered a Laser/Zuma hiking strap for my Zuma and was surprised to find it exactly the same legnth as my sunfish strap. The Laser strap is the advertised 32 inches, but the sunfish strap is advertised as 28-29 depending where you look...

Break in/ things to know about a new sunfish

I generally am not a fan of the cleats either, but did put some really flat/lowprofile cam cleats on my 80's fish, one on either side of the cockpit, through bolted through the deck. I had them laying around and figured why not. I would never use them in heavy wind, as wavedancer said, it's...

    Repair Mast step problem

I've always liked the streamlined + wood look of the windflite, nice looking boat you got there! Also, my brand new sunfish has the little sump/hole in the bottom of the mast step
