    ILCA 7 Sailmakers

It looks like North, Pryde and Hyde have ILCA 7 approved MK2 sails (at least on the website I was looking at). Are there others? Any thoughts on choosing one over the other?

    Height of sailor for laser

What if you tied a line off on the hiking strap and then to the top gudgeon? Tying it off to the top gudgeon would keep it within reach and you could untie, swing around to the side and use it to get back in. Quite the conundrum.

    Height of sailor for laser

Can you kick/swim your way onto the the edge of the boat and reach the near-side grab rail? The boat should roll toward you as you put some weight on the boat and the grab rail may be in reach. If not, how about a loop of line tied off to the front of the hiking strap. Just make sure you pull...

    Outhaul Set up

Another dumb question.... My new-to-me Laser has an upgraded outhaul - most of the purchase is "behind" the jam cleat on the boom. A single line runs forward to a turning block near the gooseneck, then down to the turning block mounted on the deck and to the cam cleat in front of the dagger...

    Spar Racks

Does the rear rack slide down between the grab rail and the rear of the cockpit, essentially locking it into place (doesn't slide fore and aft)?

    Spar Racks

What are the best deck-based spar racks for storage and travelling and storage? I've seen the Lockpit and a bunch of others in pictures but cant seem to find anything but the Lockpit actively being sold (maybe my internet sleuthing skills are weak). Looking for something that is trailerable and...

What screws to use for attaching inspection port?

It seems a lot of places on the internet (they must be correct, if it is on the internet) say to use 5200 as the adhesive and sealant. Let it set up and then add #8 stainless machine screws that are 1/2 inch long. The screws are there mainly to keep the port from twisting when tightening and...

    Travel Covers

Took a look and they look really well put together - obviously a lot of experience as they carry covers for a bunch of boats. Prices are reasonable, too. Placed an order this AM. Thanks for the assist!

    Travel Covers

Any suggestions on hull and deck covers for travelling? In the multihull world we had "yard covers" and "travel covers". Yard covers were heavy duty Sunbrella-type fabric used when the boat was stationary and kept debris and grime from building up. The travel covers were tight fitting, stretchy...

Zhik powerpads - best wetsuit bottom combo?

Just in general, how much help do you get from hiking pants? I sail in warmer climates and have been reluctant to add the layers, tbh. Just curious.
