On my older Sunfish, I have rubbed out as much as I can, but it appears the metal clamps on the traveler is leaving marks on boat. What is the best fix for this? Is there a later part that does not do this? Trying to keep boat as close to original as possible.

Well we got our new to us out for it’s maiden voyage. It was a fairly calm day, but a great day to learn. We were on a little lake, called Duck lake, so we think we will call our boat “Yellow Duck”.
Got a lead on another older Sunfish. Hull only, no hardware at all. Prcce is right. Just wondering how hard it is to find the mast etc. seems like a lot to ship. Wondering if others have done this, or should I just look for a more intact boat.
Well was getting close to heading for water, but I wanted replace seals on bailer. When reinstalling I must of tightened the nut too much and cracked it. Oh well, I guess that is part of learning curve.
Just picked up a 1973 Sunfish, now doing as much research as I can to find out what I should be doing to learn about and restore. Looks like it will be fun
