    Mast Step Help

Mine is just a recreational boat as well but I only wanted to repair it once. That's why stuck in the brace across the under the deck and replaced the brace from the dagger board trunk and mast step. I used the West systems epoxy. Good luck getting the job done and getting on the water!

    Mast Step Help

Ditto on the previous post, with addition to pressure on the deck, there is a reinforcing piece of wood about 2" wide that runs from the Dagger-board trunk to the Mast Step. Is the boat going to be used for racing?

One can use the the West Systems epoxy and made a glue or filler with it that will bond the new mast step in place and it will probably never move again!

Opinion please. How much repair might be needed?

I would remove the brass drain, repair with Epoxy and cloth, drill a new hole and mount the brass drain with silcone and rubber gaskets. Should cost to much, can get small packs of West Systems epoxy.

    Mast Step and deck repair

No there is no sleeve to take up space. The mast step hole is not round but oval . The big concern should be does the mast hold water and not leak into the hull, the long term results are what my boat ends up looking like! Hope that helps.

    Mast Step and deck repair

I have reviewed many of the previous mast step repairs, but am still confused on how to create and a-fix a new step, what type of material to use for the step and to repair the deck. See photos. It appears the step and deck have been repaired at least once before. Also trying set the mast...
