    Laser/ILCA C series rigs

Hello everyone, it’s been a minute since I last visited this forum and I hope y’all doing well I remember couple of years ago we were full of leaks/teasers from PSA about brand new full carbon rig + laminated sails If I remember correct it was the C3/C5 and finally C8 rigs. Though since then...

Knowing the rig of a club's Laser without looking at the sail

The identifying thing is that the 4.7 rig nowadays called ILCA 4 is super low sail with bent bottom section and sail itself looks very short when fitted to the boom, the radial sail, nowadays ILCA 6 is having radial cut with blue corners at the head, tack and clew, the difference between ILCA...

    Minimum Rigging

The only one thing from blocks you need is classic boom vang top block and base, the rest of the rig you can make without blocks.

ARC 1 and ARC 2 rigs

Well it’s a quite weird thing to discuss but as I remember back in a day, LP (United Kingdom) was engineering these ARC rigs and parallel to LP, there were guys from PSA (Australia) and they’ve been working on C-series rigs. Both of rigs were made in real life, but as I know only ARC went to...

    Bent Deck Plate - Why???

It’s not about mainsheet length, mate, it’s about security line length. Do you set your mainsheet when you’re ashore? I don’t think so, but I’m sure that you set mast security rope, sometimes it’s too short and won’t let mast turn freely when weather shifts, and from the tension that appears...

    Bent Deck Plate - Why???

Usual reason this plate bends is that mast with security rope on may turn around 1-2 times and due to tension on this rope this thing bends.

    Practic laser dolly

Theoretically I should have screws in these 2 holes, but they’re missing. Of course I don’t want to take them apart, but I also don’t want them just to break. So, I guess the right solution is to find couple of aluminum rivets?

    Practic laser dolly

Hello everybody, I’m owning laser set up dolly by practic, it’s less than a year old and recently I just noticed something. At the stands where the belt is connected, on the bottom must be 2 screws and nuts from the inside (I can’t find any picture) and here’s my case. I have no clue how it’s...

My Laser was hit by a car!

He should, but in the port authority they said like : no it’s not our fault we not gonna do anything (we were speaking English back in a day because the crew of yacht were some people approximately from Germany/Denmark or Finland and we were Greeks, this is why I remember everything word-word

My Laser was hit by a car!

Last September my Laser was hit in the sea, while training. There was a gust and we were going downwind, I got capsized and literally out of nowhere appeared 15m Sailing yacht, they were going on engine power and my coach saw him getting closer and closer to me and not paying attention at all, I...

Laser Kicker With New Allen Top Block

I’ve tried 3 of them. The new Allen one, classic harken and the one that comes with Allen vang(kickers). From my experience I can tell u that the classic harken top block was the best one and the smoothest one and it resisted a lot of high loads (I’m sailing ILCA 6 or Radial, call it however you...

    Tiller separation

Nice question how it happened. I don’t know how. Probably it was in ok position but somebody hit my boat from stern and tiller has gone from its position. As you can see ok the pictures tiller isn’t exactly in the center, it’s a bit left. edit Do I need any lubricant ex. WD-40? to decrease grip?

    Tiller separation

Hi all. (Unfortunately) Due to this COVID19 all yacht clubs are closed, but sailing isn’t only offshore. And I wanted to separate my rudder from tiller/tiller ext to put everything in blade bag. But I found out my tiller stuck in a rudder (pictures below) How can I separate them?
