clean off the old wax and dirt first by hand using a strong soap or even acetone alone may be enought , if your not experianced with a powered polishing/buffing tool you may rub through the gelcoat.

there is quite a variation on measurements either to manufacturing and parts are also made in imperial and metric, on my older 642272 boat i had to replace the gudegons, gooseneck and mainsheet pulley all the new fittings (metric) had to be filed out to align
thats a no i recon, the alloys aged brittle and corroded and really has reached end of life. if you could find a tube with the correct dimensions to sleeve it on the outside it will not have the flex that the mast requires for sail shape and maybe too wide to insert in the mast step

the easiest way i have found to remove rusted/sheared bolts is to use a hollow diamond bit + dremel this will leave a nice round clean hole to bond in a plug or a expanding insert :)
