    Standing Rigging

Here's a swage tool for $30.00 that will fit 3/32 - http://www.amazon.com/003-Swaging-Tool-16-32/dp/B004Z21C2E/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369725176&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=swage+tool+Nicopress+fittings Let me know if you can find the wire closer to the .42, I'd be willing to rent the swaging...

    Centerboard lift assembly

Good point... I know I have some old tow straps laying around somewhere in the garage.

    Centerboard lift assembly

That's great. I ordered a new shock chord from CD and will be adding the line soon. I noticed you don't have the hiking straps installed - my boat doesn't have them either. Do I really need them if I'm not going to be racing??

    Centerboard lift assembly

Good afternoon guys, I purchased my mod II C14 a couple of weeks ago and I've replaced all the running rigging except for the worn out bungee cord that controls the centerboard and the line (totally missing) which runs the blocks - having these little blocks and cam cleats on both sides of the...

this seems like a pretty good deal...

**UPDATE** Over the past couple of months I've accepted a job with my company on night shift, nearly broken my back acting way younger than my age and spent a several days trying to track down the owner of the boat who seems to have walked away from his property. However, perseverance paid off...

this seems like a pretty good deal...

Greg, that's great to hear because I too will probably be solo-sailing most of the time and I really like the idea of having a r/f jib.

A view from inside - Cuddy removed!

Too cool!! Makes me wonder why Catalina didn't do more with this space from the beginning... This may be a stupid question, but were the empty water/milk cartons from Catalina or were those your own added buoyancy feature? -Rob

Understood. Thanks for explaining. I pray that never happens to me. -Rob

this seems like a pretty good deal...

Makes sense. Question George - How hard or different is it to rig a roller furling jib as opposed to the hank on type? I've never had a r/f jib and I have to trailer the long block and a half to our lake (not far, but trailer none-the-less). Should I look to trade the r/f system or can I make...

this seems like a pretty good deal...

Wow Kent, you got great a deal! Were your original shrouds covered in plastic? These are (covered in plastic, that is). Do you think just checking for obvious signs of discoloration or other visual clues are enough to determine their reliability? A new set of shrouds could be $85 very well...

Right - very good point about the trailer - I need to keep that in mind. Yes, the rudder and tiller are there, but I didn't look very close at them. I pretty much just identified that they were there. I'm going to go by this weekend and ask him to take another look. I've looked at the...

this seems like a pretty good deal...

I completely agree, George! He mentioned spending $800 on sails and having a nice boat for $1,500. So, part of the reason I'm wanting to have an accurate list of items is also to use that information as a bit of a bargaining chip and (just like you said) approach him with "X" number of bills in...

this seems like a pretty good deal...

Hey ackwu. Yes, I would be interested. I'm not needing anything to race with, just a decent set to get on the water and start teaching my kids. I'll send you a conversation note with my contact information. Thank you, Rob.

this seems like a pretty good deal...

Hey Greg, unfortunately it has been left outside for a while. I didn't even mention the rigging earlier, but all the running rigging is missing and I haven't inspected the standing rigging yet (It should be OK, I'm hoping). I've been trying to get together some figures from Catalina Direct so...

    Question about Capri 14

Good morning, Jimbo. Here's the number for Catalina Yachts: 818-884-7700. They are extremely helpful and were able to tell me the mod and year built with me giving them the hull number. In fact, I didn't even get transferred. The very nice receptionist took the info and called me back within...

this seems like a pretty good deal...

Thanks for the input, Bill. You're right, it is a mod 2. The hull number is 4482, Catalina confirmed it was built in 1995. I'm wanting another sailboat so bad I'm afraid it may be clouding my judgement. I guess I'll see if the guy will take a little less before I start reaching out to locate...
