I was just wondering who everybody though would recieve medals both in the Standard and Radial Class in the Olympics. I am personally inclined towards Tom Slingby recieving the medal in the standard class.
Re: Ross Bennett's Olympic Path
Shatty
Finally somebody has put an end to all these false expectation about Ross actually having an "Olympic Campaign". I have no personal problems with Ross (in fact I actually admire her efforts), but I believe that she always finds excuses for her poor...
Options B and C would sound great for a weekend warrior (like I am) or somebody who just sails as a hobby, but I really doubt that anybody who wants to someday become a top level sailor would/should choose these options. Rather than "sailing and wallow in misery because you`re not a quitter"...
The results indicate that Ross only competed in races 1 and 2 and dropped out from races 3-7. I hope she didn`t injure herself. I imagine we`ll be able to hear from her soon
There used to be an official builder of Lasers in Chile (Primex S.A.), but unfortunately around 6 months ago the company had to declare bankrupcy. Primex also used to suppley the laser sailors with spars, deck fittings and sails.
I would imagine that perhaps Riotecna (who already has the 29er...
Re: Bought a Laser Bahia!
I wouldn´t even consider the SB3 a sportboat, simply from an SA/Displacement point of view. However, this boat can be great for one design racing if a fleet grows.
Ross,
If what I am saying wasn`t true, would you be making such a big deal about it?
Are you trying to tell me that just because I am Chilean means I`m a bad sailor? I´m sorry to tell you but a Chilean is a 5 time Lightning World Champion and 1 Time Etchell World Champion, and a Chilean Laser...
Ross,
The day you actually win any regatta or get to the olympics, you can start worrying about the weight in the end of the boom.
Stop worrying so much about your equipment and start training.
The best footwear is barefoot, although if I were to choose a pair of boots I´d probably opt for the Aigle Maramu, altough you should always wear them with socks, to avoid having a rash.
There is a great british sailing magazine specialized in Dinghy boats called Dinghy Sailing Magazine, the website is:
http://www.dinghysailingmagazine.co.uk/
Probably they can have the magazine sent to any part of the world and there is not one page of cruising or yatch information
All the harken hardware you may use for a laser is listed in this page
http://www.harken.com/rigtips/laser.php
Hope it helps you in setting up your new system
Thanks for all the info related to my question. I think I am going to go with the Kiwi Tiller, despite the fact that it is from NZ. Acme tiller seems great although it is a bit heavier than the Kiwi Tiller and doesn´t include the roller.
I am planning on buying a carbon tiller for my boat. I have seen the Windesign, Acme and Rooster carbon tillers however I am not sure which one of these is the best buy (regardless of their price).
Are there any other good options in the market for carbon tillers?
Here are a couple of links with Laser videos. The first clip is from Hyeres and at first starts with 470´s but has 2 minutes of great high wind sailing in Lasers at the end. The other 2 clips are very good too.
The first video link is:

The other...
I was wondering why some Lasers have a red line in the stern(like the one in Paige Railey´s Boat), specially European Laser? Does this line have any special purpose?
