During my first sail of the year in May, I inadvertently forgot to close the drain plug and found myself draining the boat for quite a while once on shore. Honestly, I didn't even know the boat could hold that much water and the weight was considerable.
Has anyone ever sailed regularly with...
Hi folks,
I've been following some threads regarding the mounting of an outboard and I'm preparing to do so. I notice that several people have mounted motors on the port side of the transom rather than the starboard side. Is there any rationale for this?
Too much power
Thanks for the feedback. You confirmed what I was thinking. I really don't want to go with a trolling motor due to the hassle, the weight, etc. Also, I'm having trouble finding an affordable small motor with a long shaft. Nevertheless, I think this motor would be too much...
Hi folks,
Back on the motor issue. I've been looking at this for my Capri. I've read the promos for the Honda 2hp, but in my neck of the woods its pretty expensive. For under $900 I can get this one shipped to my door. It's a bit heavier (42 lbs), but I'm still considering it. Would this...
Hi everyone. My boat's put away for the winter but I'm already thinking spring. I'm considering a small motor as a backup for when the wind dies out on Lake Ontario now and then. Does anyone know the height of the transom on the 14.2 off hand? What is the minimum shaft length that I could...
Thanks
Thanks for all of the feedback on the motors. I think I'm going to go with canoe paddles for now, but will consider all of this should they not be sufficient. Thanks again. :D

Hi,
I'm trying to find out what people have on their Capri's as far as a motor (if any). I'm looking at maybe putting a small 2 hp outboard on it for getting in and out of port. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Jason:)
