I added a couple of trailer guides to each side of my trailer, and they are very helpful in loading the boat alone in a cross wind. They are like the ones you see on bass boat trailers, fasten with a couple of u bolts, and you slide a white PVC pipe with a cap in the end over the outside...
How did you sail without a vang? A shackel on mine broke once in fairly heavy air. I tried to tie the boom down with some spare line, but that was not very effective. My main got in some pretty ugly shapes as I tried to get back in. Made it in safe, but I don't want to do that again.
My garage is also 19' and the boat/trailer fits fine with a few inches to spare. I wonder if the Catalina rep included the mast in the overall length. I have to take the mast off the caddy and store it at a diagonal when I put the boat in the garage.
