I suggest using Soft Scrub with Bleach and a stiff nylon bristle brush. It did a good job of getting the stains off my deck after some mice made my Laser their winter home.
These are "intent to use" applications applied for by Bruce Kirby, Inc. Identical marks are owned by Farzad Rastegar through Karaya (Jersey) Limited.
A few speculations on why these applications were filed:
- Perhaps Kirby is preparing for potential outcomes of the lawsuit.
- If these...
Bruce Kirby's Mk 1 International 14 design was also called "Torch." Here's a photo of him sailing it:

The Kirby sailboat seems poised to be named the Kirby Torch, with this as its sail insignia:
Not a bad name for an Olympic class to carry the torch of the former Laser class.
Re: rule change, builder
Yes, patents expire. US design patents expire 14 years from their issue date, so both of the Kirby patents listed above are expired (although neither relates to the Laser itself).
Copyrights have a defined term. The exact term can be complicated to calculate...
Re: rule change, builder
In the interest of promoting transparency by giving everyone all the available information, here is some information on some of the intellectual property related to the Laser.
The following copyrights are recorded at the US Copyright Office:

Thanks Alan. I understand your position much better now.
However, Rule 20 specifically permits inspection ports, so they are not a repair or preventative maintenance to the deck. They are, instead, specifically permitted equipment, including their covers.
Is the shape of the deck part of...
The permission to use storage under hatch covers has nothing to do with the fact that the Bottleport is a watertight, threaded cover.
I would be interested to learn more about the reasoning by which the Bottleport is not a cover.
I have not posted here or even looked at this site for a very long time. However, I am in possession of a Bottleport, so when I saw this thread I had to respond.
The rule says that "watertight threaded covers" are allowed. The Bottleport is a watertight threaded cover. It is (1) watertight...
Check the angle of your tiller in the rudder. That could be it, as you suggest.
If that doesn't work, check to see if your gudgeons are worn down? That could also drop your rudder down a bit and cause the problems you are talking about.
Re: Was the sailcloth actually rejected by the Victoria's Secret supplier because it
There has been discussion on SA about the sail below, which supposedly would cost about $600-700 including carbon battens.
I know that this sail is obviously a big step forward from the conventional sail...
You need to drill off the head of the rivet using a drill bit with a diameter about the same as the diameter of the rivet head. You are not trying to drill a hole in the rivet, just to remove enough material from the head to separate it from the shaft of the rivet.
It also sounds like you are...
If I lived near Ross I'd sign up to be his training partner just to get on O.C. gravy train. I'd need a new sail just to keep up with Ross and I just can't be seen in last year's sailing gear. Oh, and my old school vang would have to go.
