All that extra weight can cause damage if bunks or cradle are not correct and even if they are you should shovel off to prevent damage to hull. We have been getting hammered with storm after storm here in Atlantic Canada
and US north east and another Noreaster is coming this week.

I bought my new sail from Intensitysails last August and just put it on for July 1, Canada Day, 147 years.
My first impressions in light air are all positive and I could feel the difference over my old sail, a Neil Pryde.
My biggest beef with the old sail was the so called window which was too...
It has been a good week for sailing as the tides have been very high and in the afternoon and the weather has been mostly hot and sunny.
I must let you know that out of a 24 hour day there is only usually only 1 to 3 hours that you can sail and this is do to tides so when conditions line up you...
The symptom were hearing loose blocks when boat was being flipped, soft hull bottom and deck and hull very noisy with banging sounds when sailing in choppy conditions.
First cut 3 holes for 6 inch inspection ports but do not install ports until foam block repair is complete.
The 3 holes will...
I have been very busy this spring and that has kept me off the water even though I am only 15 minutes from the house to being out on the water if the tides, winds and weather are favorable.
For the second sail of the season I brought along a Garmin etrex GPS that I bought this winter.

Just thought I would share an inexpensive tiller extension that I have used for the last two sailing seasons. I by the rubber and plastic 1/2 inch round $6.95 universal joint and I attach a ski pole to it. I use premium anodized aluminum poles that have a good grip and a taper on the basket end...
At the end of last season my boom blocks were squeaking and one sheave was not spinning so I am in need of a new pair of boom blocks. Just looking for any wisdom in selecting new ones whether to get standard sunfish replacement blocks or are there upgraded ones for racing? Any tips on mounting...
Just wondering is anyone has used inflatable flotation like the ones used in the Opti as a solution to two main forward foam blocks that are totally unattached. Two cockpit ports are in place so thinking that this might get my friend through the rest of the season and then do the fix during in...
Saw this listing on eBay and thinking that it is a Sunfish that has had its aft extended to make a double ender:eek:. What do you think?

Picked up this Grew, a boat manufacture here in Canada, Sunfish at the end of the 2009 summer. I have not heard of Grew making the sunfish in any history that I have seen? The hull has no plate or serial # that I could see. I got the boat from the original owner and he could not remember if he...
