Two boats on Kitty Hawk trailer

Even better! What did you use, something like 2x6's? How did you shape them to fit the hull? Any pics? Thanks so much!

Two boats on Kitty Hawk trailer

I understand that an adapter is available that lets you carry two boats on a Kitty Hawk. Does anyone have any info about or experience with this? What does it look like? How well does it work?

    New Laser daggerboard brake

Say, for example, passing the bungee under the hiking strap, back through the board eye, and then forward to one of the 'approved' locations? A single line forward, doubled going astern?

    New Laser daggerboard brake

I don't read the rule as prohibiting what I described as long as the required "safety line' is attached as the rule describes, but ....

    New Laser daggerboard brake

I think the problem is that the bungee and the daggerboard brake are mutually exclusive. The bungee pulls the board away from the brake. I think the bungee is an afterthought and that Kirby/Bruce expected the brake to work by itself. Like everything else! Next time out I'm going to try passing...

New Project: Add 2 to the local fleet.

Also, I highly recommend putting that steel plate at the bottom of the mast step. You might also want to check the cockpit drain fitting. If it's original, its plastic. My boat developed a leak there ans I replaced the plastic with the brass fitting after sealing off the leak. Some of the...

New Project: Add 2 to the local fleet.

UID You can get a 15:1 vang by adding 2 micro singles and a micro double with becket to the old vang. I have a pic posted in the 'show off your laser' thread, if you're interested. Can you tell me how to get a decent class legal sail for $125?

    Show off YOUR Laser!

I did it over the winter. It's only been in the water once, so far. I managed to hit some rip-rap while launching with no damage to the paint, though. I have concerns about how well it will hold up too. I know it will be more fragile than gel coat. Scratch repairs should be easy, though...

    Show off YOUR Laser!

Thanks, 132. Here's a couple more pics and a 'before.' Can you I.D. the boat in the foreground? They're hard to come by. I painted it myself, using cans of spray paint (!)... Krylon Fusion, 'specially formulated to bond to plastic' topped with UV resistant clear coat. Krylon seemed to holds...

    Hull painting

120 grit is WAY WAY too coarse. What you need to do now is re-sand using progressively finer paper. The rule of thumb is that you can only double the grit number each time, so if you used 120, you can go no higher than 240, followed by nothing finer than 480, etc. You'll need to go to at...

    foam spar holders

The Intensity 4-spar holder works great and you can't beat the price. I hook the bungees to the grab rails.

I hadn't really thought about selling it. Mostly I was hoping to get it back in the water. It's been awhile....like 20 years
