    Flying Fish?

Minifish and of course Sunfish I'm familiar with, but a Flyingfish? "Laser like?" http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-AMF-Alcort-Minifish-Sunfish-Flyingfish-Sailboat-Fun-Fleet-Print-Ad-/400335057672?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d35d43308

How to install a Hiking Strap

Got the Strap, no instructions on how to install. Have the porthole ready, but no idea how and where to attach the strap to the fore and aft of the cockpit. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Down-Ratcheting Web Straps

I finally got the hull hung upside down from the garage ceiling so I can drive the truck underneath for loading. The straps are of the narrower variety, and "down-ratcheting" to lower onto the roof is a "1 inch at a time" evolution. I usually end up dropping the hull onto the roof from 6...

    Outhaul lines?

New sail, old outhauls on old sail had been replaced by a combination of bailing wire/duck tape/nose hair. What is the recommended specification? Any stretch? Still using a "U" shape with figure 8 stoppers on the outer side of the boom cap? Much obliged.

Canoe loaders to haul a Sunfish on a truck??

Reese, Fulton and Weston manufacture these add-ons. They say they can hold a 130 lb. canoe, and that the "uprights" can go wide enough for the big A@@ of a Sunfish. Weston sounds a little too light in the construction, and don't work well on a taller truck (Expedition) but the other two...

    Intensity white sail with window

Anyone running this sail? I don't race (I might spill my beer), and I don't care about class rules, so I need a nice inexpensive durable sail (and a window would be nice so I don't spill my beer getting out of the way of a large Containers Ship!

    How to transport Mast/booms/sails

Cartop. I was thinking of a large enough and long enough PVC tube with a fixed cap at the "bow" and a removable (screw or clamp on) at the "stern". Strap to the top of the car. Drill holes in the whole pipe and caps to ventilate the interior. Don't store anything wet for long in "The...

    Deck drain is petrified

1970 model, last wet in 1973. Cannot remove the bronze deck drain plug from the hole for love or money. Foam is dry because the boat sat in a garage from 1973 until a few weeks ago. If I cut out an inspection port to install a hiking strap (and hide a few beers), will this be sufficient to...

    Boat dolly wheels/tires

I have a VERY old (early '70's) centerboard dolly. The tires are gone, and the wheels are rusted (as is the dolly frame). It is much like a gaerlick (sp?) centerboard dolly, but from the Stone Age. The picture below is the gaerlick. I can fix/paint the frame, but I'm unable to find 13X5.00 6...

    Refinish rudder and Board

I bought a 1973 fish last sailed in 1978 and kept in a garage until I picked it up a few weeks back. The mahogany<?> is in great shape but the finish isn't "Bristol Fashion". Any advice on sanding, sealing and varnishing? I usually go with a full sanding, sealers and a poly gloss finish but...

    Flooding down a fish??

TS Fay is coming and I don't have any way to get the hull under cover. Without deck ports, is their anyway to get a hose into the hull to flood the hull down before chaining it to a tree? I'd also like to be able to de-water the hull after the storm in case I need to use the hull to get...

Eyestrap and Ratchet Block on old 'fish

My '72 has a downward pointing hook mounted vertically to the forward edge of the cockpit lip. Was this the attachment point for a Block, or did they just wrap the sheet around the hook in the old days? Are there Blocks that will attach to this hook, or should I install an eyestrap and quality...
