    J-24 Parts

Carolyn, I am not Art, but I do have rigging to sell. I assume "standing rigging" is the shrouds and stays, not mast and boom? The "Running Rigging" (Halyards, sheets) are junk. The wire ropes, fittings, and turnbuckles appear to be original (1979). They look ok, but I'm no expert. I would...

I think I have the 4 sheet blocks and cars. They are fairly old and worn. I will post images. No ratchets. springs or cams on them.

    Parting out another J/24

Pictures of stanchion tubes. I have 5 for some reason. Two are "welded", three are "two piece". One was laying in the bottom of the lazarette. It's the dirty one with no ring around the collar on the bottom. Looks like it will clean up nice. Is $10 a piece reasonable?

    Parting out another J/24

I have the bow chocks and cleats. I have the 4 stanchion tubes. The lifelines have some cracking. I don't think I have any of the stanchion mounting flanges available.

This one does not have the "boomerang" shaped bar between the spreaders. Either never had it, or it was removed by the PO. Thanks !

Gin Pole for Mast Stepping? Anyone have instructions / images to share?

I know about the "recovery loop" from using a conventional crane. Fortunately I did not learn this the hard way !! I guess you could boat hook it or something.

    Looking for J24 Rudder

33.5 lbs. No signs of moisture. I put it across two saw horses and it feels very stiff to me. I would use it. I will include the transom mounted hardware (gudgeons) and the tiller shackle plates (not shown), but I have no tiller. Forward enough of a shipping address and I will get a quote to...

    Looking for J24 Rudder

Please give me a few days to get you all kinds of details. It's from a 1979 that has been sitting on the hard for over a decade. R2AK seems like a place to have a spare ! I assume you don't need it right away?

    Looking for J24 Rudder

I have an old one, but I'm in the Philadelphia PA area. I don't mind shipping if you think it's reasonable. I will pull it out of the shed and send close up images. Thanks,

Gin Pole for Mast Stepping? Anyone have instructions / images to share?

The winch was more for smooth lowering into the keel step. I suppose a ratchet block performs this task as well. Do you "hook" under the spreaders, or rig a line to keep it below them?

Gin Pole for Mast Stepping? Anyone have instructions / images to share?

Thanks Vince! Only way to improve on that would be to add some photos of it in action. ( I know, that's the first thing you're thinking when you have your rig hanging in the air ;-) ) I may do the same but add a winch to the side of the mast, and a cam cleat.

Traveler image. It's going to need some lubricant. The deck mounted cam cleats need new balls. "Half Decent" at best, but better than nothing. Let me know if this helps you out.
