I didn't do the other side since it seems to be in pretty secure.
At some point in time, I can get in and replace it as well as switch the rudder to the newer style potentially. It isn't on my plan yet.
As you know the strap loop for the bridle broke the first time out on the water. My son and I managed to fix it. It appears that it was only drilled into the deck, no wood behind the screws.... Here are the step we did to fix it. Let me know if it is too long of a post. I ended up using...
No luck on having the wood backer block. So I guess I will be putting in the inspection port right in front of the rudder attachment and working my way to the hole. What kind and size wood should I use?
Thanks, I will try to find it. I have my doubts I can find it.
I'll give the knot a try, actually my son will.
Swivel cleat is in now.
BTW, I bought your book and my son and I enjoyed the pictures and commentary.

My son took his Sunfish out on the water yesterday. My son had a great time. There is a link here of a save he had: .
And of course there was damage on the first day.....
The metal loop for the traveler ripped out of the deck of the boat. So I will have to put in an access port that I...
Her name is Prädəjē
good point about the maststep, thanks.
The current sail has seen its day. I am guessing it is original from 1970. They were little holes I could see through on it. My son is a Sea Scout and wants to race against his buddies in our Ship's other Sunfish.
He likes to the...
