    Ok. It's a little unfortunate, it seems. A spinnaker halyard always should exit above the headstay. Think about how it works...rotating from one side to the other when you gybe. Below the headstay it would chafe against the headstay or the jib halyard. Seems like a problem the way it is.

    Mast cap stuck in mast well(tube)

    I like the basic idea, but might try 5 minute epoxy instead. Let it set up for an hour or more. Careful you don't get any on the sides.

    I'd say if you really want a topping lift, you have to use your intuition, engineering skills, and accumulated know-how on this one, or search out an original unmolested boat to see how it was done. I have no idea how the topping lift was implemented when I dismantled mine. Best wishes!
