What are the changes to the shape at the top of mast as compared to the model 1.

so from widest part of my mast (inside, beam to beam) is 2 1/32". outside is just under 2 7/32" from fore to aft (excluding the groove for the sail) see pic below, I was just a hair over 2 1/8" on inside. (ignore the reading from photo as i was just trying to illustrate where i was measuring)...

    BoomKicker (newbie) Question

Thanks for nothing ;) I figured it out on my own sailing this afternoon! When the sail is down, you need something to hold the gooseneck down. The cunningham works or if you want to have that free (i.e., sail not attached yet) you can just run another line through gooseneck (same hole as...

    BoomKicker (newbie) Question

Am I correct in that the only thing keeping the gooseneck from sliding up is the cunningham? I installed a a BoomKicker and without the cunningham holding down the gooseneck, the BoomKicker just acts as a fulcrum. Thanks for any info!

    New Owner Questions

I know this is an old thread but curious how your ladders work? Is the side ladder connected to the barney post? I assume plenty strong? How about the drain hole ladder? Thanks for any info!

    Barney post strength

I've heard others connect a ladder to the eyelet in transom that the aft hiking strap connects to. Makes me a bit nervous as the direction of pull is perpendicular to intended direction! I imagine the barney post would be strongest thing you could connect to! I was thinking about coming up with...

What are the changes to the shape at the top of mast as compared to the model 1.

Hi, better late than never. Here are some pics of my mast (Mod3 1999). You can't really tell from the photo, but there is some kind of plug below the masthead sheave (pulley). In the birdseye view, you can see an eye strap on portside of mast. I'm not sure if factory installed. There's a line...

    Centerboard Stop Hose Replacement

Thanks! I probably should have explained better! The inner diameter fits perfectly. It's the outer diameter that's different. This will allow the centerboard to pivot down slightly more. Given your experience, I suspect it doesn't matter! Thanks again

    Centerboard Stop Hose Replacement

Hi, I managed to lose one of the centerboard stops (must have come loose and fallen down the centerboard slot?). I figured I'd just grab some 3/8" ID heater hose from local automotive store. The original hose is over 3/4" OD but the hose at the auto parts store is about a 1/16" diameter less...

    sitting on gunwale or seat

Warning, the other day I was out in moderate winds and my mate was sitting in the seat pressing his feet against the opposing wall (of seat). We got a good gust which required him to push back. I heard a cracking noise from that area. Upon inspection there was no visible damage, but I would...
