Sunfish trailer

What are some ideas for a easy trailer to haul a sunfish from lake to lake? I would possibly already have the dolly but looking for cheap way to go to other lakes. I have a truck but it's a short bed. Thanks ahead of time.

We like a utility trailer, 6x12 would be best. Ours is a 5x10 and it is a tight fit for a Sunfish. We use a 4 inch longer draw bar on the tow vehicle to create extra space. Easier to find utility trailers vs small boat trailers.

You can roll the dolly right up on to it and also carry chairs, cooler, etc...plus trailer can be used for other things. Other options are a jon boat size trailer with tilt bunks or a double seat jet ski trailer, it is long enough to carry a 14 foot Sunfish...or two..see below.

so...an 800 dollar trailer with a 500 dollar dolly??? im putting this together for my buddy whos mechanically inept. its that stumpy northern tool trailer that now costs 4oo bucks but was probably 175 in 2011 when it was bought new. it had a hotdog cart on it and he cut that off last year for some unknown reason. so when i scooped up that school of fish i gave him one. he has a tacoma but is fat and out of shape and cant fathom using it to haul. so he brought the trailer over. heres what ive done. i measured the geometry on my trailer. tongue length and length to axle from ball etc. ive copied that for balance. i went back and forth not wanting to spend the 200 bucks on the tongue material for 22 feet of it. 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square tube. i looked for trailers and found a bunch with no paperwork for real cheap money on craigs facebook etc. but they were all going to need something anyway and we have an mso for this. yes, 11 years and never had a plate on it. i had the angle pieces as scrap. i think ill weld those to the tongue. and bolt to the trailer. that will give him a place to put marker lights. is a winch something really useful? i feel like pulling up the ramp and getting the boat basically lined up its helpful. of course the lights are not submersible. anyway...here it is. i spent 125 bucks on the boat. 50 bucks for a line kit. and the boat. is very nice. i had an inspection port hiking strap and ratchet block i picked up for other stuff so it all went to this setup. it'll be a nice bit of kit when all put together. so...heres the trailer as of today. still needs bunks rollers and whatever. the nice thing is i have a ratty hull i can use for mockups when the time comes. anyway, if you look, there are things out there. if youre a little creative and mechanically savvy, and know where to gt stuff done, fabricating etc... you can come up with solid solutions.

I've got the same trailer--bought
already-assembled by HF store near me, complete with lighting kit, hitch, chains and license plate bracket. 100 miles on it. Nobody seems to want it in central Florida at $275 (What I paid for it). :(

'Think those new diagonals need to be so long and so hefty?
