Towing a Sunfish.

On rare occasions I have towed one of my 'fish to a swimming/ small boat cove off the main lake with my deck boat at a slow speed of 5 to 10 knots. I have always had someone in the 'fish steering with the daggerboard and rudder down. The sail is furled. Has anyone any experience towing an unmanned Sunfish? If so do you leave the board down for directional stability? I assume the rudder would be either up or not mounted at all. Any advice other to take it slow? While I try to keep my own wake at a minimum there are other power boats to contend with.

Growing up a kid would tow his behind his motorboat to the club. He was not going slow, amazing the bow handle stayed on, the water coming out the trunk was something.

Best to not use the bow handle for towing. Instead, use a long line around the mast for towing.
Good thought, especially when dealing with the wake from other boats but guess it reinforces need to have someone in the Sunfish steering. Not sure if boat would tow straight otherwise.
