New fish

Been idly combing CL for about a year. Picked up an '81 for $300. I got into this with an old ('68) fish a couple of years ago. I've enjoyed it, but the old style rudder sucks. Having it disengage in a moderate chop is not fun. Haven't had time to look too much into it, and I can't think of an uglier color, but i didn't see anything major, and the sail is in good shape. Wife thinks I have too many boats, so it's in hiding MVIMG_20200928_103449.jpgIMG_20200928_103512.jpgIMG_20200928_103517.jpg till I sell the old one.

Can’t think of an uglier color? I love the color! But it looks like the sail could have been moved before the grass was cut!
Great deal for $300.

Looks like it is in pretty good shape overall. A new sail from Intensity, a bit of cleanup on the hull... you'll have a nice and shiny "new" boat!

Sail is actually newish, looks to be in pretty good condition if a bit dirty. Dagger board and rudder could use a sanding and coat of varnish, but the hull is in good shape. I didn't weigh it. He had a trailer for $150 as well but I passed. Surprised that he was willing to sell separately.

I’ve seen a lot of Sunfish over the years but I’ve never seen that exact color combo. I’ve seen similar but not that. Wonder if it it was a test boat the manufacturer did to see what it looked like? I think it is cool and I’ll be you never see another one like it!

One of my hulls is that color. I find it's very easy on the eyes from the sun's reflected light. (Certainly better than the white of my other FIVE Sunfish!)

OK...one other is beige.

My wife is from NC. I have a bit of a hard time with Carolina blue. Maybe it will make her more accepting of yet another boat.

Is your hull all light blue like that, or is it something close but different? I have never seen one like Nola Mike's before.

Six fish? Wow. I'd like to see an aerial shot of your whole fleet under sail together.
