My boat has damage to the mast lip,where the mast goes into its hole,it's chipped and througth to the GRP layers,Gelcoat all gone.
I've tried repairs here a couple of times but they always seem to fail,it doesn't seem to stick and peels away from the repair site.
I used a strong epoxy resin...
I'm installing an inspection hatch next to the centreboard to enable me to put a backing plate on the mainsheet block as the threads have stripped on the block,I notice they come in two sizes 4" and 6",does anyone have any preference,the 6" comes pretty close to the edge of the board housing...
I know it's frowned upon in some circles but she really does look a mess,so can anyone recommend any good paint in the UK that wil do the hull and deck,I've hunted round the forum but it sall sems to be stateside products,any help much appreciated.

I go for the capsize route,swim around to the boom,if the boats head to wind,you've long enougth before she'll turtle to sort it out,only takes a few seconds.
yeah,thanks for the advice on this,felt I should have pursued it further,but I'll be back on Sunday and all being well will try again to beat him with a bit less naivety maybe.

Make sure the rivet that holds the sleeve on the top section is secure,otherwise the plastic 'bung' on the top section comes slightly apart and wedges itself in the bottom section,very embarrasing struggling to seperate the two pieces,need arms like Scwarzenegger!
Had the same thing happen to me yesterday,there was about 8 of our fleet out,myself and another guy were battling it out for fourth and fifth,he got ahead of me on the run down to the last mark,then I sneaked past him on the beat,despite him cover tacking me all the way up,by which time everyone...
super cheap one is small piece of wire like on a garden fence,wrapped round the mast with a length of about 8 inch sticking horizontal from it,bend the tip up 90 degrees and attach a piece of ribbon or similar to it,ideal for light weather
