if you take the sheet out (or unclip the blocks) and release the vang, your boat should stay quite well.
I usually dont have a lot of problems that way.

I dont know what approved ones look like, the only rule you have in Belgium where i live is that they have to be 50N... and i dont even think they're mandatory.
IF they are huge and orange, i wouldn't suggest them on a laser :cool:
to me it sounds as if you are passing your tiller extension round the back of the boat when tacking.
I usually keep it facing forward, diagonally and make it just clear the forward block on the boom when tacking.

Having just become a part of the laser owners, i was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on this subject.
I bought laser 178779 last weekend, with the xd kit, but without the stickers on it.
Now i do like the look of them, but dont have the faintest idea of where to put them...
