My boat is 187XXX. I just had it repaired with Grey Fog from LP and it was a perfect match.
Instead of using a sailboat dealer, I had it repaired by a fiberglass tub repair service that usually repairs tubs for the construction industry. They repair gelcoat everyday and did a great job.
I sail at marsh creek, we have masters sailors from 150 to 220 pds. we start the last weekend in march, join us for an early start and you'll lose weight and get time in the boat.
The whole idea of a one design class is to keep cost down. On the club level you can compete with a 15 year old boat. A Carbon mast is an uncessary expensive to make a fleet upgrade to. It will definately have an advantage in weight alone let along flexability. Drop the hull weight 10 pds...
I carry seperate insurance on my trailer and boat, i don't rely on my homeowners or auto insurance picking up on any damange. around $125.00 per year.
I hope whoever hit you had insurance.
I sailed moths from 1970 to 1977 in South Jersey, also in New Zealand at the 1973 worlds. The class died because of the nature of a development class. Expensive. You need to upgrade hulls and equipment every few years. The old hull being almost worthless. You can club race a 20 year old laser.
