been trying to ignore this post..... MWE's are all business. Mostly a kids/parents/coach sportsnazi thing... going for the Olympics or a entry into a college they wouldn't otherwise qualify for, via the sailing team route. the ony real social activites I have ever seen is at the Masters...

just checked "our" NA Laser website. I actually had trouble finding the notice of race. Am I missing something? It was buried deep (like my sailing) and took a bunch of clicks to locate. And I knew what I was looking for! It's 2-3 weeks away! It should be plastered all over the home page...

money, money, money, money....... if you can't afford a pro coach you just can't compete. not to mention new boat, new sails (often), $50k fancy zodiac for the "sports" parents to motor around in often getting in the damn way, videos, de-brief session, critques, and all the other stuff...

Wouldn't bother me a bit to see lasering go back to being an amateur sport.
