Why aren't you there? Seems the International competition would be of great help. The 23 entrants are still top shelf.
However, having sailed there, I will tell you it is a very pricey place.
gotta do it.......last year 114 entries see http://www.rolexmiamiocr.org/2007/results/laser_06.htm
this year twenty sumpin.
and don't tell me they are all in Australia! Just Campbell and 4 or 5 government supported Canucks. Who are getting pretty
good by the way!
and only ONE f-ing USA entry...
been trying to ignore this post.....
MWE's are all business. Mostly a kids/parents/coach sportsnazi thing...
going for the Olympics or a entry into a college they wouldn't otherwise qualify for, via the sailing team route.
the ony real social activites I have ever seen is at the Masters...
just checked "our" NA Laser website.
I actually had trouble finding the notice of race. Am I missing something?
It was buried deep (like my sailing) and took a bunch of clicks to locate. And I knew what I was looking for!
It's 2-3 weeks away! It should be plastered all over the home page...
money, money, money, money.......
if you can't afford a pro coach you just can't compete. not to mention new boat, new sails (often), $50k fancy zodiac for the "sports" parents to motor around in often getting in the damn way, videos, de-brief session, critques, and all the other stuff...
"We should remember the words of Shevy in 2004."
I really can' remember when Shevy went missing, but I (we) would really like to know what has become of him.
Have you had any contact with him? Any clue at all as to how one might reach him?
Thanks very much.
