    Attaching front handle?

Yeah, mine was a combination failure. I wonder if enlarging the holes a bit and threading some wire /strapping through them would work. It would put the stress on the fiberglass/backer board instead of relying on screw threads. Haven't seen the hoister I'll Google it Edit: I need the handle to...

    Attaching front handle?

You made a hole in the bottom of the hull so that you could get to the underside of the top? No thanks ...

    Attaching front handle?

Good idea. Yeah, even if the backer isn't rotted (can't tell), I'm sure I'd have better luck moving and redrilling. Could glue n' screw with some 4200. Still don't know if that's ideally sturdy enough to support the full weight of the boat, but easy enough to try.

    Attaching front handle?

Mine broke/ripped off. I have no inspection port. I see wood beneath, but can't really assess the condition. I really would like a place to lift on the boat that's sturdy. Guessing that the only solution is to cut a port in the bow and throughbolt the handle (or install a beefier cleat or...

Which dagger board do I want to keep?

Never used thixo, but I have marine tex that looks like it should be similar. Looking forward to sailing with the new style rudder...

Which dagger board do I want to keep?

Ok, so the one on the left in my pic. It needs refinished and has a couple of small splits starting at the bottom. Just waterproof wood glue for those or something more exotic?

Which dagger board do I want to keep?

Looking to get rid of my 1968 sunfish. I got an '81, and am trying to keep the best parts. 2 dagger boards. The one from the newer one is in worse shape. The older one idk if it's original. Any advantage to either one of these?

Well, just purchased a Sunfish tonight. Now I just have to get it home...

FYI, HF is no longer doing 20% off coupons or free stuff. End of an era

    New fish

My wife is from NC. I have a bit of a hard time with Carolina blue. Maybe it will make her more accepting of yet another boat.

    New fish

Sail is actually newish, looks to be in pretty good condition if a bit dirty. Dagger board and rudder could use a sanding and coat of varnish, but the hull is in good shape. I didn't weigh it. He had a trailer for $150 as well but I passed. Surprised that he was willing to sell separately.

    New fish

Guess it's not that bad. If this was a move it before I mow kind of guy it would have been more than 300.

    New fish

Been idly combing CL for about a year. Picked up an '81 for $300. I got into this with an old ('68) fish a couple of years ago. I've enjoyed it, but the old style rudder sucks. Having it disengage in a moderate chop is not fun. Haven't had time to look too much into it, and I can't think of an...

    should I upgrade?

Thinking is if I want to upgrade my rudder, I'll be in it for $200 or so anyway

    should I upgrade?

Got a line on a newer Sunfish--not sure of the year but it's got the new rudder style. Sail looks a bit rough, and Hull dirty. But comes with a trailer and asking $500. I've finally got everything straight with my current rig, but if I swap over the sail I'll have a newer boat in nice shape...

New to forums, a few questions...

Ha, you've got to be kidding me. Walking the shore today for the thousandth time since the sail was lost, and I came upon the spars, with a slight bend but otherwise ok, and the sail, which was tangled all to hell in some rip rap. Took about 10 minutes to free it, but came out dirty but...
