The sail number is 134340 and it is engraved onto a silver plaque in back of cockpit . Should this number be embossed or did they engrave them by hand ? I was told that there should be some link between the bow number and sail number but maybe I was misled. Anyway, thanks for replying !

Correction, bow serial number was JMG 162. Ive searched the forums on serial numbers but cannot work out what builder the letters JM represent and the hull looks much newer than a 1961 build (I am presuming G=july). Can anyone help ?

Hi, I have just been looking at used boat and it has the sail number on a plate at rear end of cockpit which looks as though it has been etched by hand rather than stamped . Is this normal ? It also has a number moulded under bow fairlead (MLI 651 I think), should this match the sail number ...
