Thanks all for the advice and wisdom of your experience! I'm going to have a friend evaluate it and make a plan from there. Of course if the wind starts blowing it's going in he water!
Minifish what's a glaze?
Thanks!
So if you put gel coat over the boat it would protect and seal it but it would still have the oxidized color? Does a good marine paint offer the boat anymore protection? Thanks.
I've read a number of threads on this forum about painting a Sunfish and have learned quite a bit. I was wondering if after you've painted your fish do you then apply a coat of gel coat? Could you mix the gel coat with the paint and apply it that way?
Thanks!
I've got a 1970 Sunfish that I think I'll be replacing the bailer on. Is there an advantage to going to the new style bailer? I understand it's plastic which concerns me with beach landings and overall durability. Thanks!
Seems as if I'm missing an important component to my self bailer. Shouldn't this have some sort of cap to it? When I'm sailing it's fine, when I stop for any reason the cockpit fills with water.
The top part of my centerboard, where you grab it, has come almost free. The screws that hold it in place have worn a hole to the end of the board. Is there anything wrong with taking some marine epoxy and gluing those two pieces together? Thanks!
The brass fitting that connects to the traveler caused me a problem in my boat. About every 3rd time I changed directions with the rudder it would clip the fitting and open it up. Which would free the line enabling the boom to do what it wanted. I replaced mine but perhaps someone on this forum...
