I recently re-did my handle and I used a scrap piece of alum. diamond plate. easy to drill and won't rust. I bolted thru and used lock nuts - so I didn't see any need to epoxy it to the underside of the deck. I just put my port in close enough to be able to reach all four nuts.
Thanks for the response - how large a port should I put in and is right behind the handle location OK? Are there any stringers or re-inforcement pieces to worry about in that area of the deck?
Just bought a used Sunfish and the bow handle was loose and had been screwed into the deck using sheet metal screws. What's the best way to repair this so that the bow handle is usable again?
