    Trouble raising mainsail.

Downhall? That makes sense about the Cunningham. Thanks. I don't see anything about a downhall line in the pictures so I assume that this isn't necessary. Correct?

Where should I buy new standing rigging

Shroud price I emailed with Catalina again today and got the price for a pair of shrouds straightened out. The price is $46.20 as someone said earlier. Thanks for everyone's help. By the way, they said it might take 3 days to ship so we'll see!

Where should I buy new standing rigging

Playing it safe Thanks for the info. I will contact Catalina again today and double check on the price. I bought this 1990 model and I'm guessing just from the boat's history that the standing rigging is original. The shrouds "look" okay but it seems like very cheap insurance to replace them.

    Trouble raising mainsail.

Gooseneck hole for the cunningham In the pictures I see in the owner's manual the hole in the gooseneck fitting is shown on the top rather than the bottom. Does anyone see it the same way when looking at their literature?

Where should I buy new standing rigging

I checked with Catalina and they told me new shrouds were $46 each! Does anyone know a good source? I don't have anyone locally.

rigging the jib on a Mod II

Thanks! Jack, thanks for the help. This makes sense, and I read one of the tuning guides and your advice corresponds well with what they said.

    Mainsail Tack Retaining Hardware

mainsail tack to gooseneck My Mod II has a small screw that is bent at about 45 degrees so that you can easily turn to tighten or loosen. So yes, it's designed to use a small screw/bolt as you describe. I doubt that there will be much of a tendency to work loose under sail. Many boats...

    Say hello

Saying Hello Paul, We just finished a short vacation to Colorado. What a beautiful state! We love to hike, and raft on the Arkansas. I just bought hull #3483, a 1990 model. I've sailed in the past and the most fun was always a peaceful Sunday afternoon sail. My wife would always fall...

rigging the jib on a Mod II

I just bought hull 3483, a 1990 Mod II. The jib halyard doesn't seem to be set up correctly. The halyard has a small block positioned just about in the middle of the halyard. I think that I see how this is supposed to be rigged - I guess the idea is to allow simple adjustment to the jib luff...
