Small outboard motors on Capri 14.2

I use a Torqueedo electric motor. The removable battery is built into the motor so no wires or mounting required. It has more than enough juice to get you where you need to go with it without wind.

    keel or center board

You asked about launching depth. My trailer has an extension pole that I pull out when launching. This gives me 8-10 feet of additional distance without getting my car wet.

    keel or center board

Thanks for the comment. I really wanted the blue hull and although they refused to do it, the factory finally broke down and agreed. Not sure if they have done it since, so I might have the only one out there. Overall, I love this boat. It is exactly what I was looking for. Fun, yet stable...

    "Topping Lift"

should I oversize the boomkicker just to be sure? I have a keel version 14.2 and it sits on a mooring all week long. I like everything nice and tight to prevent wear and tear.

    "Topping Lift"

does the Boomkicker really hold up the boom, even while the boat is on the mooring?

    Mooring Advice

mushroom anchors work on muddy bottoms. for hard bottoms use a concrete block. 150 pounds will be fine if the area is at all protected. if totally open to the wind, use 300 pounds. use chain (double the length of the depth of water) to connect the boat to the anchor. use rope to attach the chain...

Installing a Tiller Tamer, few questions...

I'm starting to wonder if the transom is NOT hollow. I saw that the motor mounts are through bolted in the area that I'm thinking of using. Maybe there's some "beef" there to hold a screw? the area of the transom designed to hold the motor mount is reinforced at the factory. the rest of the...

    motor mount

If you reverse the brackets both of the motor clamps might be half on steel and half on the motor mount. In my case, one motor clamp is half on, half off, while the other is fully flat on the mount.

    motor mount

I also have the standard factory motor mount but I ordered it with two right brackets so I could offset it away from the rudder by a few extra inches. this has worked for me there is no contact. see photos hopefully attached.

    What is this?

my mast has a hole with a cotter pin to do the same job.

    motor mount

I'm using a Torqeedo electric motor with standard length shaft on a factory installed motor mount. It works well except it drags in the water slightly when titled up under sail. Obviously it would be preferable if you could avoid this.

    What is this?

Looks to me like it is there to prevent the main sail from coming out of the mast.

    keel or center board

id like to upload some photos of my new 14.2 keel boat but the files seem to be too big. can someone tell me how to compress them so they'll post?

    Furling jib questions

From what I have been told, the trailing edge of the jib has a special UV treatment right on it. Nonetheless, I ordered a job cover with my new boat...more to prevent against whipping.

    Mast support for trailering

This is great stuff! I hope I plan to duplicate your effort. We're did you get the rubber mast supports from?
