    Kolibri dinghy

Greetings Petrel, Thanks so much for the information, and the cool photos. Mine I believe is the early German one, in deep pastel blue. I am missing the seat (easy enough to make) and some various hardware, to be determined. I think my sails are okay though. Some parts are non original, like...

    Kolibri dinghy

Hi, Someone just gave me a 12' sloop rigged Kolibri sailing dingy that needs some repair and probably a few parts. I haven't found much info on the web yet, but I guess it was made in the 70's in Germany. It may be similar to a US made boat called an "echo" but haven't found anything useful...

    Racing Rules of Sailing...

Actually most of those rules are also right of way rules that every sailor in every situation needs to know and follow. New sailors (and some of the old ones:-) should familiarize themselves with right of way as soon as the first time they grab a main sheet. Try, "start sailing right" by the...

Thanks for the info, Dan. My 70's fish has a jam cleat for the mainsheet and I just assumed it was a standard item. I am fixing up this new board for a friend who wants a boat but has no money and have scavenged all the other parts i need from stuff thrown out from an old girl scout camp. There...

    dating a fish

First let me apologize for asking a question that is undoubtably answered in the archives, but my browser will not allow me to use the search engine on this site , probably because the results appear as "pop-ups" I just aquired a board that must be a fairly old one, no serial # or manufacturers...

    Sunfish mast and booms 1970's

I have the two booms and a mast, all a tiny bit dinged up, the lower boom looks good with the pulleys and gooseneck attached, early 70's style, the upper one has a slight wank to it that probably can be straightened. Mast is missing the lower end cap. $35 for the set, plus shipping. Mark

New Sunfish Owner - Day 1 Novice

Hi michelle, Two sources that have helped me are the very simple and basic guide called "start sailing right" put out by the american red cross and the us yact racing union, which has a wealth of the kind of information you need, and the rigging guide available from vangaurd as a pdf. Good luck...
