    The hose clamps are only "not legal" if you are racing. For recreational sailing you can do whatever you damn well please.

    I seem to recall that bearing buddies used to be sold based on the bearing number. Just match the number on the bearing with the package info. And yes, a wood block and a big hammer are the way to install them.

    You might also have to obtain state registration for your boat if you add a motor. In NY, Any boat with any type of motor must be registered, regardless of size. Just something else to consider.

    Most warranty periods begin with date of purchase, not manufacture date. Have you spoken with your dealer about this? Maybe he can intervene on your behalf, and convince Vanguard to do the right thing.

Also according to their website, they used to be O.E.M. supplier. Probably can't go wrong, especially if you can live with one of the specials...
