I had this Orbit block for about 15 races (two regattas), at least 10 of which were in 20+ knots.
Long story short - I did not like the block and got rid of it and returned to the standard Harken ratchet.
1. This thing caused substantial wear on my new main sheet. I estimated that new rooster...
I think I saw recutting was an option and may be the only option. It might be very hard to apply resin to a whole sail which has a non-flat shape. Not sure though
Don't throw way the colored sail. There is a company (google it) that can recondition the old sail which will make it illegal for official racing but will clean the cloth and fix the shape. Keep it - such a nice toy :)
try using a piece of clear plastic bottle for mixing color, this way you can put the plastic on the hull and mix ingridients on it until it looks close. worked for me...
What kind of hiking pants to you guys use for drysuit?
I have 3/4 SEA neoprene pants, but I can hardly imagine putting them on top of the suit. Putting them under the suit might work but I think the suit fabric will wear out very quickly.
I payed less that $30 for 44ft of 8mm line. I have a job that won't let me visit gym more than twice a week. But it gives me the $30. Or I can quit the job and hit the gym every day. Then I do not need another sheet :) Choices choices... :)
Hi gang,
I am looking for an alternative sheet for 20+ knots sailing, thicker than the default Laser sheet. Something around 8mm. What's the common experience? what's good on the market nowdays?
I am looking at the three options:
$1.90...
Re: Was the sailcloth actually rejected by the Victoria's Secret supplier because it

Re: Was the sailcloth actually rejected by the Victoria's Secret supplier because it
I think this is a brilliant point! Weak sail is a clear violation of the "money don't win" principle.
Thanks alot for clearing important details!
I guess all I want to do now is to learn the dance moves... :)
