Hey all,

Got a chance to take the laser out for the first time in a long while, probably about 6 months. Went out on the intracoastal around Lantana Blvd (by the old Key Lime house for any Floridians here) and sailed about 3/4 of the way to the Boynton Beach bridge, then turned around and came back.

Got to test out a new lifejacket (I didn't used to wear one and it was bothering me) and some new gloves. No mishaps, although I'm starting to notice a few cracks in the deck of the boat. Its an older 70s boat, don't know exactly what year though.

For supposed 30 knts due to a cold front, the weather was gorgeously sunny and the wind was pretty gusty. Only went swimming twice involuntarily! Third time was to fix a twisted sail.

If you're looking for an excuse to get down to Florida, find one!

We should swap lives for a week or two – you come to Copenhagen and frostbite in the sound between Denmark and Sweeden and I will fill in Florida.

Not bad idea…we should have a website for this kind of swapping homes and boats…I would gladly swap with another laser sailer – peer to peer.

I misread your post and thought it hilarious. I thought you said "swap wives for a week or two". LMAO!

Yes...Come to Wonderful Copenhagen and see the Little Mermaid from a Laser:D

I have been racing at the sound between Copenhagen and Malmoe. Wouldn't be a bad "horse trade" to change between Forida and Copenhagen for a couple of weeks, I agree. Learn why Copenhagen has a new manmade island called "Pepperholm" and visit the famous Cristiania quarter etc.etc. I heard the famous little mermaid goes for a big holiday in 2010: She visits the Word Exhibition 2010 at Shangai/CHN.
Be careful to get her back from China...

One thing I miss at Copenhagen in our days, the famous "Admirals Hotel" at he old harbor (its closed already many years). In the past, I've done some tough sailing voyages from GER via Anholt-island to the coast of Norway or the charming shore at the north of Goeteborg/SWE. During the return to GER, we always had a "pit stop" with the yacht at Copenhagen. You know, one or two weeks sailing in saltwater only, makes humans looking like a sort of sea-monsters. The "*****"-stars Admiralshotel was the best place to recreate from salt of the North-West East Sea and have a nice visit of really gorgeous downtown Copenhagen.
To the otherhand: Florida definitely is a gorgeous place on this globe to live (okay, perhaps not during the hurricane time), to many to tell what I would like to visit there and go for a sail at...

Skøl/Cheers

We Floridians call winter racing "sunburning". Come join us any time. The heck with that Frost-bite stuff. :)
